My dad, Eyan, was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer, but for him the treatment came too late. He was a wonderful, constant supporter of his grandson Archie and granddaughter Erin in their Ballroom and Latin dancing journeys. Although he never danced a step himself, he was always there — offering words of encouragement, quiet belief, and unwavering support. He showed true perseverance through adversity, a quality that inspired everyone around him.

When my dad sadly passed away at the age of 70, our family became determined that his story would not end there. In his memory, and for the many families affected by this devastating disease, we committed ourselves to raising funds to help support research and fight oesophageal cancer.

Ochre plays a vital role in this fight. The charity works to raise awareness of oesophageal cancer, promote earlier diagnosis, and fund essential research that can lead to better treatments and improved outcomes. Ochre also provides information, support, and reassurance to patients and their families at a time when it is needed most, helping no one feel alone in their journey.

To help make a difference, RDW is donating the hire fees from selected dresses in our collection entirely to Ochre. Each hire of these special dresses contributes directly to research, awareness, and support for those affected by oesophageal cancer. You can find this wonderful collection here.

By supporting Ochre in this way, RDW is proud to honour my dad’s legacy while offering hope, practical help, and the possibility of change for families facing this disease.
